What personal data we collect

We collect the data we need to open and run your account, to confirm that you are who you say you are, and to meet the duties that apply to us as the holder of a gaming licence. Some of it you give us directly; some is created automatically when you use the site.

Account details

When you register we ask for your name, date of birth, residential address, e-mail address, mobile number and the username and password you choose. If you set deposit, loss, time or session limits, take a time-out or close your account, we record those choices and the dates they take effect.

Identity and age documents

To confirm that you are 18 or over and that the account belongs to you, we collect copies of identity documents, proof of address and, where needed, proof of the source of the funds you deposit. This can include a photograph of a document, a selfie taken during an electronic check, and the result of that check. We only ask for what the check requires and we do not use these documents for marketing.

Transactions and play

We keep a record of your deposits, withdrawals, payment method details in the form passed to us by the provider, bonus credits and the games you have played, including stakes, results and balances. This record is what the cashier and your account history are built from, and it is also what we rely on if you query a payment.

Device and usage data

When you visit the site we receive your IP address, approximate location derived from it, device type, operating system, browser, language setting and the pages and features you use. We also log sign-in times, failed sign-in attempts and similar security events.

Accounts are for adults only

Our services are strictly 18+. If a verification check shows that an account holder is under 18, we close the account, return the deposits and delete the data we no longer need to keep.

Why we use your personal data

We use your data for the following purposes and no others:

  • Running your account - registering you, taking deposits, paying withdrawals, crediting winnings, applying the limits shown in your account and answering your questions by e-mail or live chat.
  • Verifying age and identity - confirming you are 18 or over, that your details are accurate and that the payment methods you use are yours.
  • Preventing fraud, collusion and money laundering - checking transactions and play patterns for signs of fraud, bonus abuse, multiple accounts or activity we are obliged to report.
  • Meeting our legal and licensing duties - keeping the records we are required to keep, carrying out safer gambling checks, responding to lawful requests and co-operating with the gambling regulator where the law requires it.
  • Safer gambling - spotting signs of harm, acting on a time-out, self-exclusion or self-exclusion through GamStop, and pointing you to support such as GambleAware, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline.
  • Offers and messages you have opted into - sending promotions, free spins and news by the channels you agreed to, until you tell us to stop.
  • Keeping the site working and secure - diagnosing faults, blocking unauthorised access and improving how pages and games perform.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not make decisions that affect you by automated means alone without a person being able to look at the outcome on request.

Who we share your data with

We share data only where it is needed for the purposes above, and only the minimum required. The categories of recipient are:

  • Payment providers and banks that process your deposits and withdrawals through the methods shown in the cashier.
  • Identity-verification and fraud-prevention partners that check your documents, confirm your age and address, and screen transactions against the checks we must carry out.
  • Game and platform suppliers that run the games and the account systems on our behalf, under contracts that limit them to our instructions.
  • Service providers such as hosting, customer-contact and e-mail tools, bound by confidentiality terms.
  • Regulators, the police and other authorities where the law or our licence conditions require us to disclose data, and the self-exclusion scheme where you have registered with it.
  • Professional advisers and auditors, where they need access to carry out their work.

Some providers may hold data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we use the safeguards UK data protection law allows, so that your data keeps the same level of protection it has here.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account data for as long as your account is open, and then for the period that gambling, anti-money-laundering, tax and accounting law requires us to retain it after closure. Verification documents, transaction records and safer gambling records fall into this group.

Marketing permissions are kept until you withdraw them. Logs and device data are kept for a shorter period, long enough to investigate security and fault issues. Where you have self-excluded, we keep the record for the full length of the exclusion and for as long afterwards as we must, so the exclusion cannot be bypassed.

Closure does not erase everything

If you ask us to delete your data, we must still keep the records the law obliges us to hold. We will tell you what has to stay and why.

Your rights, complaints and cookies

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction of data that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Erasure of data we no longer have a reason or a legal duty to keep.
  • Restriction of how we use your data while a query about it is being settled.
  • Objection to uses based on our legitimate interests, and to marketing at any time.
  • Portability - receiving the data you gave us in a commonly used format.
  • Withdrawal of consent, including unsubscribing from marketing, without affecting the rest of your account.

To use any of these rights, write to support@casinozetbet.co.uk from the e-mail address registered to your account, or use the live chat on the site. Data protection queries can also be sent to privacy@casinozetbet.co.uk. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, and we will respond within the period the law allows, telling you if an exemption applies.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We would ask you to raise it with us first so that we can look into it, but you do not have to.
